UFC Fight Night: New Mexico DraftKings Fantasy Picks

UFC FN, New Mexico takes place this Saturday and honestly, is one of the duller cards of the year. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a good card to play DK fantasy on. Today, we’ll take a look at some of the top plays and underdogs for this fight.

Lock n Load

Jack Hermansson- $9,100

I don’t care for this card too much, as the picks are tricky. However, there is one man on this card that I look at and go, “he’s probably going to score a KO”, and that’s Jack Hermansson. He’s a heavy-handed Swed that really brings the heat alongside good hand speed.

I expect him to score a late TKO around the 3rd round.

Value Plays

Sam Alvey- $8,400

It feels weird that I find myself doubting the former light-heavyweight champ, Rashad Evans, but here I am. Evans is older now, down a weight class, and seemingly a former shell of his old self. His opponent, Sam Alvey, is the fresher fighter here, and has heavy hands. Alvey is the younger fighter here and carries some firepower in his punches.

I expect either a strong decision or 2nd round TKO win for “Smile’n.”.

Sergio Pettis- $7,700

Pettis is finally growing out of the shell of his older brother, and it seems like the right time to do so. He’s riding a 3-fight win streak and has a really tough opponent in Moreno, but I think the price of Pettis really makes him a solid play. For Moreno to win, he’s probably has to finish this fight on the mat, but Pettis has a current takedown defense of 70%, and is strong in wrestling as well.

It’s an interesting fight that I see Pettis dominating for the most part, and if he can keep his back off the mat, it should be a big win for Little Pettis.

Sleeper Picks

Niko Price- $7,500

I have picked him in every fight he’s had thus far in the UFC, and why would I stop now? Price is an impressive talent and a very smart fighter. He knows how to fight his opponents and is currently undefeated and riding a two-fight win streak inside the UFC banner. He has a gigantic task ahead of him in elite striker, Alan Jouban, but I like Price’s style and I think he finds a way to finish Jouban, and at his price…It could be a real play.

Randa Markos-$7,900

After watching her defeat former champ, Carla Esparza, I have a new-found faith in Markos. I’ve been eying this fight for a while and go back and forth between her and Grasso, but I think I’ve settled. Seeing that Grasso is coming off a loss to a fighter in Felice Herrig, I think Markos will find similar success. Let me warn you though, this a huge risk and I’m not going to necessarily recommend it, but this underdog is there if you need it.
